Privacy Policy

Effective September 30, 2026

SERENDIPITY BUREAU LLC ("Serendipity Bureau", "we") manufactures electronic components, computers and measuring and navigation instruments, develops and publishes software, processes data and provides engineering services. This policy explains how we handle personal data under the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection" and the GDPR.

1. Controller

SERENDIPITY BUREAU LLC, 39 Nauky Ave., apt. 78, Kharkiv, 61000, Ukraine. Director: Dmytro Kharchenko. Website: serendipitybureau.xyz. Contact: office@serendipitybureau.xyz.

2. Customers and partners

Business contacts, specifications, orders, delivery and warranty records, and calibration certificates linked to device serial numbers.

3. Device data and location

Our instruments record measurements, not people. However, devices with GNSS record their position, and devices in our cloud service are linked to the customer's account. We process this data only to provide the service, on the customer's instructions, as a processor. We do not use customers' measurement or location data for our own purposes, except anonymised diagnostics to improve firmware where the customer has agreed.

4. Software users

Our published software requires a licence key linked to an email address. Crash reports are sent only if you enable them, and contain technical data without measurement contents.

5. Engineering surveys

Surveys of buildings and sites may record images in which people appear incidentally. Such images are used only for the survey and are not published.

6. Export control

Some navigation and measurement equipment is subject to export control. For such orders we verify the end user, which may involve processing information about the buyer's company and management.

7. Purposes and grounds

Performance of contracts, legal obligations (tax, export control, product safety), consent (diagnostics), legitimate interests (warranty, product quality).

8. Recipients

Carriers, calibration laboratories, cloud infrastructure providers in Ukraine and the EU, customs and export control authorities where required. We do not sell personal data.

9. Retention

  • Warranty and calibration records: life of the device plus 2 years.
  • Cloud measurement data: as configured by the customer; deleted 30 days after contract end.
  • Licence records: while the licence is active plus 1 year.

10. Your rights

You may access, correct and delete your data (subject to legal retention), restrict or object to processing, obtain a portable copy and withdraw consent. We reply within 30 days. Complaints may be addressed to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or an EU supervisory authority.

11. Cookies

This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. The configurator runs in your browser.
